Johnathan Alcegaire is an inmate on death row in the state of Florida. According to The Ledger (see link), Alcegaire was found guilty of driving to Lakeland the morning of Jan. 6 with Jamaal Smith and another man and storming into Washington’s house demanding money. During the trial, court testimony revealed that Washington had been buying drugs from the Miami men, including Alcegaire’s brother, 38-year-old Andrew Joseph, and had just returned that morning from a trip down there. Prosecutors alleged that the gunman, who they identified as Smith, killed Washington first, then the two women, who were sleeping in their respective bedrooms. His victims included David Washington, 24, Stacy Branch, 31, and Angelica Castro, 23. Margaret Allen is a black woman who has been on death row in the state of Florida since 05/19/11. Crime He was convicted of 1st Degree Murder in the commission of a felony, committed on 02/08/05. On February 5, 2005, Wenda Wright was cleaning the home of Margaret Allen when Allen's purse containing $2,000 turned up missing. Allen was furious about the missing money and accused Wright of stealing it. When Wright denied it and tried to leave, Allen struck her in the head, causing her to fall to the floor.Determined to get the housekeeper to confess, Wright asked her 17-year-old nephew Quinton Allen, to bind Wright's wrists and legs with a belt. Allen then beat and tortured Wright for over two hours with bleach, fingernail polish remover, rubbing alcohol and hair spritz, which she poured onto her face and down her throat. Tina Brown is a black woman who has been on death row in the state of Florida since 09/28/12. Crime He was convicted of Premeditated 1st Degree Murder, committed on 03/24/10. Tina Brown was convicted of beating 19-year-old Audreanna Zimmerman with a crowbar, shocking her with a stun gun and then setting her on fire in Brown's family home. Brown's daughter Britnee Miller, then 16, told the judge at her own trial that the plan was to fight Zimmerman, but it escalated out of control. The attack was said to be the result of a disagreement over a man. After beating her and using the stun gun, the trio put Zimmerman in the trunk of a car, drove her to a wooded area, doused her with gasoline and set her on fire. Zimmerman was able to run to a nearby home and call 911 with severe burns across 60 percent of her body. She died two weeks later. Alfred Fennie is a black man who has been on death row in the state of Florida since 12/01/92. Crime He was convicted of 1st Degree Murder in the commission of a felony, committed on 09/08/91. On 09/08/91, Mary Shearin left her home, driving a 1986 Cadillac.  Later that day, two men found a body lying face down on the side of a road.  Police officers discovered that the hands were bound behind the back and the victim had been shot once in the back of the head.  Police later determined the body to be that of Mary Shearin. On 09/09/91, police found Shearin’s vehicle being driven by two men, who identified themselves as Ezell Foster and Ansell Rose.  After the car was impounded, police found the .25 caliber pistol that fired the bullet recovered from Shearin’s body and a piece of rope that matched the rope used to bind Shearin’s hands. The police discovered the body of 73-year-old Iris White on October 4, 1988.  The victim was found undressed from the waist down. She was stabbed 24 times and the back of her head showed evidence of blunt trauma.  The fatal stab wounds penetrated her heart and lungs.  There were also non-fatal wounds near the genital area.  White’s body displayed evidence of defensive wounds. Manolo Rodriguez is a hispanic man who has been on death row in the state of Florida since 10/24/96. Crime He was convicted of 1st Degree Murder in the commission of a felony, committed on 12/04/84. On 12/04/84, Manuel Rodriguez and Luis Rodriguez, who are not related, went to the apartment of Bea Sabe Joseph and Sam Joseph to rob the couple.  Manuel Rodriguez and Luiz Rodriguez forced their way into the Joseph’s apartment.  They robbed the couple and a friend of the Josephs, Genevieve Marie Abraham, who was visiting the Joseph’s apartment.  They killed all three people by shooting each victim in the head. Richard Hamilton is a white man who has been on death row in the state of Florida since 06/12/95. Crime He was convicted of Premeditated 1st Degree Murder, committed on 04/27/94. Richard Hamilton and Anthony Wainwright escaped from a North Carolina prison, stole guns and a Cadillac, and headed for Florida.   When the car overheated, April 27, 1994, in Lake City, Florida, they abducted Carmen Gayheart, a young mother of two, at gunpoint from a Winn-Dixie parking lot as she loaded groceries into her Ford Bronco.   The men stole the Bronco and proceeded north on I-75. They raped, strangled, and executed Gayheart by shooting her twice in the back of the head.   The men were arrested the next day in Mississippi following a shootout with a trooper. Derrick Smith is a black man who has been on death row in the state of Florida since 07/13/90. Crime He was convicted of Premeditated 1st Degree Murder, committed on 03/21/83. Derrick Tyrone Smith was convicted and sentenced to death for the murder of Jeffery Songer. On 03/21/83, Derrick Smith and Derrick Johnson carried out a robbery which they had previously planned.  Following their plan, Smith called for a cab from a St. Petersburg restaurant payphone. A cab driver, Jeffery Songer, picked up the two men who requested to be taken to a nearby residential area.  After becoming suspicious, Songer radioed an emergency code to his dispatch.  His dispatch called the police and also sent another cab driver to answer Songer’s distress call.  The police and other cab driver found Songer lying about 70 feet from the car, dead from a gunshot wound to the back.
