Richard J. Vieira is an inmate on death row in the state of California.. Crime Cult leader Gerald Cruz used sleep deprivation and occult beliefs to manipulate followers into murdering four people in attacks with baseball bats and knives. James Beck and Ricky Vieira were condemned to death while two others received life sentences. He was convicted of four counts of murder. Roy Ward is on death row in the state of Indiana. They were born 07/01/72 and entered death row on 12/18/02. Crime 15-year old Stacy Payne and her 14-year old sister, Melissa, were home alone in their rural Dale, Indiana home when Ward entered and attacked Stacy with a knife. Melissa had taken a nap upstairs and was awakened by Stacy's screams. From the top of the stairs Melissa saw Ward on top of Stacy. She called 9-1-1 and heard Stacy pleading, “Stop!,” while Ward said, You better be quiet.” Ward was still at the scene, covered with blood and pocket knife in hand, when police arrived. Stacy Payne's torso was nearly sliced in two, her throat was cut to her windpipe and her wrist was slashed to the bone. She was nevertheless alive for a short time. Anthony Lamarca is a white man who has been on death row in the state of Florida since 02/20/98. Crime He was convicted of Premeditated 1st Degree Murder, committed on 12/02/95.  On 12/02/95, Anthony LaMarca met his daughter, Tonya Flynn, and her husband, Kevin Flynn, at a bar.  Around 7:45 p.m., Kevin left to drive LaMarca home. At 8:30 p.m., LaMarca returned to the bar alone and told Tonya they needed to drive to a relative’s house in Hudson County to pick up Kevin.  When they arrived at the house, no one was home. Tonya claims that LaMarca then raped her and asked her to leave Florida with him. He stated that her feelings for her husband would not last.  Tonya then called the police and reported the rape.  Police spotted LaMarca walking alongside the road but were unable to apprehend him because he took off running.
