Kevin Scott
Kevin Scott is an inmate on death row in the state of Mississippi.

Crime

Lurline testified: I opened the door to see what was going on.   And I suppose he heard the door open, because my husband did.   And he looked up, and my husband just matter of factly, like, this is it, you know, and says, “Honey, he's got a gun.”   And the minute-the second he said that, that boy over there raised that gun and started firing at me.   Twice I saw the fire. But the minute I saw, I was-I ducked down and shoved the door with my arm and ran around the corner into the bathroom. I went in there and I locked the door and called 911.   And I just sat on the floor scared death.

Lurline testified that she saw the pistol.   Lurline testified that when Scott raised the pistol to fire twice at her, she ducked.   One of the bullets deflected off of the door as she slammed it causing it to shoot across the family room through the bedroom wall and into the dresser and mirror.   Lurline did not come out of the bathroom until the police arrived approximately 4-5 minutes later.   The police would not allow her to see her husband.   Lurline testified she never saw Lee alive again.   Lurline testified that she never saw Scott before that day, “[b]ut I will remember you as long as I live.   You took my husband from me.”

His victim was Lee Lurlane
