Crime

According to Oregon Live, Oregon State Penitentiary inmate Isaac Creed Agee, 33, was found guilty of aggravated murder in the slaying of Antonio Barrantes-Vasquez, 36, inside his prison cell on Feb. 14, 2008. Prison officials found Agee and inmate, James Demetri Davenport, kicking and beating Barrantes-Vasquez with a cement rock wrapped in cloth. Davenport, 33, pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated murder in March 2010. He was sentenced to life in prison as part of a plea agreement after it was determined he was mildly mentally retarded and not eligible for a death penalty sentence. Agee was already serving a 54-year sentence in prison for convictions of attempted murder and assault. In 2004, Agee, while high on methamphetamine, hit 65-year-old H. David Banks, of Salem, with a pickup and then beat him with a brick. Banks suffered a broken jaw, ankle, shoulder and leg, crushed sinuses and fractured eye sockets.

Troy Kell Utah
