Crime

Sanchez was raping a 16-year-old girl when he was caught by the girl's mother. He killed both of them. The woman's 5-year-old son witnessed the shooting and ran and was able to identify Sanchez. His victims were Ermanda Reyes and Lorena Martinez

After two juries were unable to reach a verdict, a third jury convicted defendant, Juan Sanchez, of the first degree murders of Ermanda Reyes and Lorena Martinez under the special circumstances of multiple murder and, as to Lorena Martinez, rape by instrument. It also found true that defendant personally used a firearm during the commission of both murders. After a penalty trial, the jury returned a verdict of death.

David Barnett Missouri

David Barnett is an inmate on death row in the state of Missouri.. Previously sentenced to death, but the sentence was overturned by a judge in 2015 Crime Barnett was waiting for his grandparents when they returned home around 1:00 p.m. He confronted his grandmother and pushed her down in the hallway. He then pushed his grandfather to the floor and grabbed a knife that was lying on the nearby kitchen table. As his grandfather rose from the floor, Barnett kicked him in the head, and when he fell to the floor again, Barnett stabbed him repeatedly in the neck area.
