Crime

In a gang-related incident, Rivera shot into a van carrying field workers, killing one man, Gustavo Barrera, and endangering 13 others. West Trece (West) is a “well-documented” criminal street gang in the City of Westminster. Sigler Park is located within West’s claimed territory and is its members’ “primary hang out or gathering point.” Members and affiliates of West particularly congregate near the handball courts at Sigler Park. A gang expert witness testified that in his opinion based on his investigation, both Olmedo and Guadalupe Cuevas were members of West. (Cuevas admitted to being an active participant in West in his guilty plea.)
Orphans is a Hispanic criminal street gang that is one of West’s rivals. On September 9, 2010, Enrique Zacatenco, who was a member of Orphans, started drinking alcohol around 3:00 p.m. By 5:30 p.m., he had consumed “like, an 18 pack” of beer and was “a little tipsy.” Around 6:30 p.m., he was driving his black Toyota Camry in the area
of Sigler Park and became bored so he decided to drive around Sigler Park to “see what was going on.”

David Barnett Missouri

David Barnett is an inmate on death row in the state of Missouri.. Previously sentenced to death, but the sentence was overturned by a judge in 2015 Crime Barnett was waiting for his grandparents when they returned home around 1:00 p.m. He confronted his grandmother and pushed her down in the hallway. He then pushed his grandfather to the floor and grabbed a knife that was lying on the nearby kitchen table. As his grandfather rose from the floor, Barnett kicked him in the head, and when he fell to the floor again, Barnett stabbed him repeatedly in the neck area. All told, Barnett inflicted ten stab wounds and numerous cuts to his grandfather’s neck, face, and hands. Satisfied that he had killed his grandfather, Barnett returned to the kitchen to get another knife and then began stabbing his grandmother in her neck as well.
